Squish Clearance, Fuel & Installation Notes:

• Squish Clearance Verification: Because this gasket reduces compressed thickness from the OEM ~0.048" down to 0.021", always verify your piston-to-head squish clearance using solder prior to running the engine. Ensure adequate clearance for piston rocking and rod stretch at high RPM.
• Fuel & Jetting Considerations: Closing the squish gap and slightly increasing static compression accelerates the burn rate and increases combustion efficiency. Ensure carburetor jetting and octane levels are properly matched to prevent pre-ignition under sustained wide-open throttle.
• Surface Preparation & Sealant: Cylinder deck and head mating surfaces must be completely flat, degreased, and free of old gasket residue. Applying a light, even coat of high-temperature copper gasket sealant (such as Permatex Copper Spray-A-Gasket) to both sides is strongly recommended.
• Torque & Heat Cycling: Torque cylinder head nuts in a diagonal pattern across progressive stages to factory spec. Perform a full thermal cycle (bring engine to operating temp, allow to cool fully to ambient), then re-torque all head nuts before aggressive riding.
