FL400 Carb Rebuild Service
Important Service, Parts & Billing Terms:
- Service Labor Only (Parts Billed Separately): The base fee paid at checkout covers professional teardown, multi-stage ultrasonic cleaning, inspection, and precision reassembly labor only. Replacement wear parts (jets, float needle and seat, bowl gasket, o-rings, slide components) are not included in the base price. Parts costs typically range from a few dollars to $100+ depending on the internal condition of your carburetor.
- Parts Estimate & Follow-Up Payment: Once your carburetor is fully disassembled and evaluated, we will contact you with an itemized parts quote and a secure payment link. Reassembly begins once parts approval and payment are received.
- Non-Refundable Inspection Fee: If your carburetor is deemed non-rebuildable due to severe internal galvanic corrosion, cracked casting, or stripped threads, or if you decide not to proceed after receiving your parts quote, the base service fee is non-refundable due to the dedicated shop time required to disassemble, clean, and inspect the unit. Your carburetor will be returned reassembled to the extent possible.
- Shipping Logistics: Customers are responsible for shipping their carburetor inbound to our facility. The shipping fee paid at checkout covers tracked, insured return delivery back to your address.
- No Core Exchanges: We rebuild and return your exact original unit. We do not offer core swaps.
Restore Crisp Throttle Response & Reliable Starting to Your FL400
Is your Honda Pilot FL400 struggling with erratic idle, lean hesitations, mid-range bogging, or hard cold starts? Modern ethanol fuels and extended storage periods are notorious for wreaking havoc on vintage 2-stroke carburetors. Old fuel degrades into gummy varnish that clogs internal pilot orifices and air bleeds, while aging seals and worn float needles lead to unmetered air leaks or fuel bowl flooding—putting your high-performance Pilot engine at serious risk of leaning out under load.
Our specialized carburetor rebuild service focuses strictly on internal mechanical and fuel-metering integrity. We disassemble your original carburetor down to every screw, jet, and retaining pin, clear all internal circuits ultrasonically, evaluate every mating surface, and rebuild the unit to factory specifications so your FL400 pulls cleanly and reliably through the dunes and trails.
How the Rebuild Process Works:
- Order & Shipping Instructions: Complete your purchase online. Reach out to us with your order number, and we will provide the shipping address and packaging guidelines for sending your carburetor in.
- Inbound Shipment: Drain all residual fuel completely, pack the carburetor securely with plenty of protective padding, and ship it using a tracked, insured carrier of your choice.
- Teardown & Ultrasonic Cleaning: We strip the carburetor completely and run the casting body, float bowl, and brass fuel circuits through an intensive multi-stage ultrasonic cleaning cycle to dissolve decades of fuel varnish and debris.
- Inspection & Parts Quote: We evaluate the slide bore, needle jet, float assembly, and body threads for wear or damage. We will contact you with a detailed breakdown of necessary replacement parts and a secure payment link for the balance.
- Reassembly & Baseline Bench Calibration: Once parts payment is completed, we reassemble your carburetor with fresh components, set the factory float height, verify needle clip positioning, and establish baseline air/fuel screw adjustments.
- Return Delivery: Your refreshed carburetor is carefully packaged and shipped back to your door using the return shipping paid at checkout.
Service Details & Limitations:
- Mechanical Focus: This is a precision mechanical overhaul engineered for peak engine performance and reliability. It does not include exterior cosmetic polishing, vapor blasting, or detailing.
- No DIY Kits Available: Because authentic replacement components for vintage FL400 carburetors must be curated individually across specialty distributors, we do not offer a packaged DIY rebuild kit.
- Severe Corrosion Warning: Carburetors with excessive galvanic corrosion, stripped body casting threads, or warped flanges may be unserviceable. If you suspect severe damage, please reach out to us prior to shipping.
