FL350 Billet Aluminum 3rd Bearing Side Cover by Methodical Fabricator
The FL350 Billet Aluminum 3rd Bearing Side Cover was born out of necessity. In the Superlite race era racers needed every advantage they could find to last the entire race and be competitive. The FL350 engines were run hard, so this side cover was developed to add a 3rd bearing as support for the crankshaft and the primary clutch. This addition reduced the occurrence of crankshafts becoming out of phase and causing catastrophic engine failure.
Due to the spacial requirements of the additional bearing, your primary clutch may need up to 0.075” machined from the back side of the fixed clutch sheave, directly in the area where the bearing resides. Each cover comes with the correct bearing preinstalled. Contact us for additional details.
